Slowing down and Shouts Out
Dear friends and readers,
During the course of my rather successful blogging journey, I’ve had pauses in my consistency. I love blogging and plan on continuing to share my thoughts and experiences with the masses. However my life is growing in responsibility, and I find blogging is beginning to take up time that needs to be dedicated to other things.
Don’t worry I’m not leaving, just going to post a little less. So keep an eye on your feed aggregators, for when a post does come, it’s going to be sweet.
So now for some Shout outs:
Brent Steeno’s bachelor party last night, planned by the ever competent Dave Sliker, was some of the most fun I’ve had in years.
Bret Mavrich said he disagreed with my post on Life, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness. What’s funny is Bret does actually agree with me, he just put a different spin on it. And his spin is really good, so check it out.
Speaking of Bret (who is now on the blog roll) I have also added Mr. Ben Hailstone. Ben has been a faithful reader of this blog, and a faithful blogger. I read his blog regularly, check it out.
I would also like to thank Dave for adding both hilarity and complexity to my life yesterday… here’s to you… retribution will come…
I want to throw out a shout to the Song of Solomon, A book that I’m falling in love with all over again, and for the first time. I’m helping to teaching a class on the book and I’m studying it and praying through it with ferocity. I love it.
and lastly a shout out to the to Jackson Bohlender. A brilliant blogger, just not on my roll, yet.
peace out, and if you have a shout out you’d like to leave throw it up in the comments!

I’d like to give a shout out to your ever-changing header. It spices things up a bit. It’s like rearranging the furniture – kind of makes you feel like you’ve got a new house.
By the way, this new header is very fitting with your post in that it kind of gives the feel that you are walking off the blogging pier to fall into the abyss of growing responsibility. Farewell, O busy one. Er, kind of farewell, that is. I know you are not abandoning ship altogether.
I like the new header too.
Double Kudos to Jackson: He’s a brilliant teen-forerunner.
PS: No, no, I actually do disagree. My Manifesto was to counter that Jefferson did us a disservice. My point was that Life Liberty and Happiness as a mandate are the very things that Jesus gives us as a mandate.
Maybe I’ll refine my point. Thanks for putting me on the list.
Thanks for the shout out.
Bret – I’m not going to presume to speak for Zack – goodness knows he doesn’t need me to, but I couldn’t help but observe that Zack’s post in no way refutes your point.
Knowing Zack, my guess is that he would agree wholeheartedly with you. I believe the point of Zack’s post was to expose the futility of pursuing these God-ordained mandates outside of Christ, which I think is abundantly fair to presume of a substantial number of our fellow Americans at this point in time.
I think it is fair of Zack to point to the disservice our founding fathers did in framing our constitution as they did, in this regard, though I would not blame them for doing it intentionally. It is obviously plain that they crafted such phrases primarily as a response to England’s squelching of these pursuits, not as the three-fold mandate of abiding in Christ.
The disservice came in the application of future generations who did not and do not regard God nor their own sin. To deny God and demand the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is diabolical. That is what Zack is bemoaning and I should think I know well enough of you to assume that you would feel the same.
Perhaps I am missing your point, though. At any rate, it still seems to me that you and Zack are on the same team on this topic and it seems silly to me to try to argue different sides of the same coin. All the same, your points are good – in my mind it just seems a different application.
aww…i hope you still do your random Friday thing, whatever you call that. I enjoy them always! I miss you trying to lecture us in the cafeteria about life and trying to start annoying philosophical debates at my table. *wink* Well time is ticking away…one more week before i return! Keep up the great posting when you can!
I just love you a ton.
Molly–
that was a mouthful! Maybe! ha ha ha.
Zack! Is that guy that is going to walk off a pier a metaphor for your blog? I hope not!
You got me started on this blog-life! ha ha ha
no, no metaphor. I’m definately not leaving the blog world… just chill’n out for a bit
you’ll post less…but you will probably still change your header every three days…
ya darn right!
I like the changing header!
