Random Rantings Friday: BlackBerry day!

For those of you wondering, Random Rantings was written on Friday, just wasn’t able to post until now…

Greetings folks, and welcome back to another Random Rantings Friday! I realize all of you are reading this think, isn’t it Saturday? Well you forget I’m nocturnal and thought it be 4:37am it’s only the early evening for me.

So Let’s start with my exciting news… I just got a BlackBerry! and I didn’t pay much money for it (bless you Craig’s List!). I got the new BlackBerry Pearl. The lady I bought it from couldn’t figure out how to use it, so she just wanted to get rid of it. I spent hardly anything on it!(which is great cause I don’t have much to spend) I’m so excited!

I dream often about the day when the church in our world is unified. When there aren’t Black churches, white churches, and Asian churches, but one church. It’s going to happen: I John 1:7: “We walk in the light as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another.”

Every night at 4am we are praying for the nation of Fiji, as a YWAM team is their holding revival services. It’s been awesome.

Carrie is amazing. I never thought it would be possible to think so highly of someone, get to know them, and think even more of them. She’s great!

Bush gave his plan on Thursday, while Senator Reed stood by with his own declaration. Iraq is more than a battle ground for our troops, it seems to also be a place where politicians tussle to gain face in the public arena.

Remember Petra!? They rocked, and their name meant rock, all great things!

Better than Petra does anyone remember Jeff Fenholt? TBN’s token “rock” guy. I mean bless him He loves Jesus, but he sure did have hair that went for days.

I still pray for Britney Spears everyday. At this point not even voluntarily, every day at some point she pops into my head (in a different then most guys) and I pray for her. She gonna get saved… and now it’s on the web… and I didn’t stutter she’s gonna get saved.

Jill Marsh joined the Nightwatch here a few months ago. She’s becoming one of my favorite worship leaders… Misty who?

While I’m talking about IHOP friends Justin Rizzo is my best “Hi/ bye” friend. I never talk with him, yet we seem to have a very steady “Hi / bye” respect for each other.

The word awesome has been so grossly over-used, (thanks much to late 80’s early 90’s culture) that it’s power as an epic word has been left lacking. To stand in awe of something is pretty intense. When you say awesome, are you really in awe??

My book recommendation for the week is “The Real Face of Atheism” by Ravi Zacharias.

When I was 7 I would watch R.W. Schambach on TBN by my self when no one was home. I wanted to be like him, so I started my own little house church with my sister, mom, and stuffed animals.

This Sunday is IHOP’s 8 year anniversary. To celebrate we are having a huge picnic at some huge park. I’m excited except for one small detail, I have to get up at 1pm!!! When you usually go to bed at 7:30am 1pm is asking allot. Main reason for getting up so early? I’m playing football in the big football event. Yeah I’m on the team playing Bickle’s team. My team recruited me because of my size, BUT I forgot to mention that I was a marching band nerd, not a full back, in high school!!!

Bill Clinton’s book on giving is fairly decent, Bono’s speeches about helping the poor is some what helpful for the poor. But so we’re clear non assure them salvation, or a spot in heaven, that’s reserved only for those with faith in Christ.

I blew out my tire going 75 mph down the Highway about 45 minutes from my house at 3 am. 10 hours later it was fixed. The final result? A really long day.

I remember in 5th grade when Pepsi introduced the 1 liter bottle of Pepsi, and Rookie phenom Shaquelle O’Neil was the spokesman. I would ride my bike four blocks over just to buy one at the gas station. It would be gone by the time I got home. Which was good cause I wasn’t allowed to drink soda…sorry mom!

Oh and last but not least, Kim Jong Ill denuclearizing N. Korea?????!!!!!??? Do you know we prayed for that to happen during the 12am on Friday night when I was prayer leading. a few days later I hear the news! Don’t tell me God ain’t listening!

peace

    1) The Pearl is sort of a mini Blackberry. More of a Blue Berry. The real ones are about the size of a ping pong paddle and have the more desirable geek factor.

    2) Petra. I remember. Fenholt? Believe it or not, I remember him too. Saw him live at the Holiday Inn in Williston, North Dakota. Where you there?

    Randy,
Way to deflate my excitement!! ha! You’re right though, but I love it. It does so many cool things, yet isn’t quite as gaudy/ bulky. I’ve even almost got the knack of type on it. though it’s a hard task to master.

I can’t believe you got to see Fenholt!! I’ll admit it when I was a kid I thought he was cool. I would always watch him, Carmen, Carlton Pearson (father have mercy on his soul now) But later in life I was a little freaked out by his hair, but love his heart.

Really love this random post. It’s great!

Bummer about your 10 hour detour. Hate that!

I’m with you on Britney. She’s gonna be an awesome worship leader!
