Rock Chalk Jayhawk Champions!

So I predicted they win by 10. I’m glad they didn’t. As I longed for sleep come 10pm, I forced my self to stay awake to witness one of the best NCAA Championship games since Mike Bibby, Miles Simon and the Arizona Wildcats beat Kentucky. It was one of those perfect games where either team could have won at any time. In the end regulation Mario Chalmers pulled up one of the most unbalanced three point shots I’ve ever seen. It was one of those shots that causes your stomach to sink with frustration that he shot it at first. It’s one of those intense moments where in a tenth of a second you go from panic to elation.

The Jayhawks kept there point streak alive during the 5 minutes of overtime and left cutting down the net. Congratulations to the Kansas Jayhawks, and special thanks to Memphis for forgetting how to shoot free throws; thank you! It’s nice to have the home team celebrate a championship.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk…KU!

  • That was such a good game! We were all in the same boat as you though, praying it wouldn’t go into overtime because we were all falling asleep… but the excitement was worth it. On a side note, I use to work out at the same gym as Mike Bibby when I lived in Sacramento.. I actually ran into him one time walking back to the locker rooms… literally ran into him as in I was looking down and didn’t see him come around the corner. Quite embarrassing… but makes for a fun story later :-)
