morning thoughts

It’s 9:15am I’ve already been in the prayer room 2 ½ hours. I grabbed some coffee with my beautiful fiancé at 8. I spent the hour prior reading through Hebrews and contemplating Jesus as the great High Priest and His constant intercession for us.

I love the mornings. There is something to be said for watching the sun rise outside while I pray for people in the city. The sunrise is probably one of the greatest sights in all of creation. To me it’s a daily reminder, as if it’s prophesying of the day when Jesus will split the sky and descend to the Earth in glory. Declaring that even as the Sun rises in the East and expels the darkness of night, one day He will return to judge the living and the dead and dispel the darkness of this world. I covet that day. I desire the day when our hope for glory returns and we live for forever with Him. I aspire for the day when the my faith in that which is unseen becomes sight. When fear and striving cease. When the God I love with all my heart restores all things and makes the Earth the place he resides.

“and Lord haste the day, when my faith becomes sight and the clouds be rolled back as a scroll. The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend. Even so it is well with my soul.”
