Random Rantings Friday: Absense Re-cap editon

So I realize my blog has been about as active as Nancy Pelosi, so I figured I’d randomly re-cap the last couple of weeks. By the way 37 days till the wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In March i moved from the Nightwatch to the daytime. After shuffling around and trying to figure out what I was going to do I have landed in my roles at IHOP, and I think they are were I’m going to be for the next ten year! So here they are:

• Director of Awakening Teen Camp or ATC. Brent Steeno has been the director of Awakening Teen Camp (formerly called Summer Teen Internship) After this summer he stepped down. I have taken is role as the Director, and am currently building my team as I look to host thousands of Teens from around the world every summer. Brent did such a great job, I have big shoes to fill!
• Section Leader. I am now overseeing our Global Prayer room every morning from 6am – Noon. With that comes a lot. I specifically supervise all of our small groups (prayer teams) and they’re leaders. I also am currently building and leading an usher staff of about 150 people throughout the the 24/7 schedule of the prayer room.
  • With our prayer rooms I help make sure people are getting pastored in the word as they give them selves to prayer. There are about 200 people under my supervision.
  • With our Ushers I’m helping them have a vision for ushering more than just being helpful, but being those who in Acts 6 are called to serve tables as the ministers pray and search the scriptures. Making the usher department an actual ministry.
• Teacher. I have teaching a High school Worldview class. It has been so much fun Helping 13 and 14 year olds develop their worldviews.
• Media director. Directing media for our student ministries department. Podcasts, videos, documentaries, short films, video skits, the whole gambit. This job is so fun, it’s like eating candy!

Not sure if I’ll keep doing everything, I’m trying to raise up other leaders and work my self out of a job, as Directing ATC is my primary mandate. But maybe give you a reason why blogging has been slow coming. 12-14 hour days have been crazy, but fun!

I’m getting married in 37 days. We are still trying to get plans in order, but it has been to make things happen when you don’t have any money. But we love being creative. I’m excited! It will be an epic event no matter how the catering lands!!

Carrie and I are growing so much closer. In all the new roles and leadership positions she has really been a friend to me, and loved and helped me so well. She is invaluable to me! I am so grateful for her.

Fantasy Football! We had our draft Sunday. We did an auction draft with fake money this year. Was way more fun that way! I kept Adrian Peterson and only had to pay 50 fake bucks for him! Jacob Turk is the real deal! I have been talking with him a ton. He is a wonderful man of strength and integrity. I am going to do everything I can to help him win in November. We need more men like him on Capitol Hill.

Dos de Oros is my favorite restaurant. I don’t get to eat there often, but occasionally people to take me out for lunch to meet. Those are always my favorite meetings….
