Surviving a Crisis as a Believer
As I posted yesterday I still do not count the trouble we are currently in as crisis just yet. But crisis is coming to our nation. I don’t have to be prophetic to predict to say that our markets are in trouble. With the Middle East switching from the Dollar to the Euro, troubled U.S. company taking their business to places like Dubai, and banks no longer lending money to start up companies or companies in trouble. It’s easy to watch the downward spiral begin economically. Not to mention the fact that morality is in steep decline, and the Church’s general response is to back a candidate instead of declare Christ. Crisis is indeed on the way.
The wisest thing we can do as believers is Col 3:1-4. Pray for mercy, declare Christ, and remember God is sovereign. NO believer should ever feel helpless no matter the trouble. Friends, trouble IS coming. Our response can’t be panic, fear, or frustration. People of God, do not be ashamed of the good news of Jesus Christ for it is our salvation from sin, and trouble no matter how great. As believers WE MUST declare the truth of Jesus Christ and not be distracted by governmental solutions.
We are light of the world
We are the salt of the Earth
We are the glory of God- Let His glory shine!
Jesus Christ is coming back to the Earth. Jesus Christ is coming back to establish his kingdom, to establish righteousness and justice for all the nations. He will judge the living and the dead and make the wrong things right. God will make His dwelling place on the earth, and we will dwell with Him forever as our God. Till that day we have 3 ye 4 mandates from Jesus that we cannot afford to be distracted from:
- Love the lord our God with our whole Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength
- Love our neighbor as our self
-
Declare the good news of salvation and the coming kingdom to the ends of the Earth
- Rejoice in times of trouble
Our job is not to fix the problems in the Earth. Yet our job is to declare that there is a savior, there is a God, He is in control, His name is Jesus Christ, and He is coming back to the Earth.
As far as politics go: ” Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the Earth. Serve the Lord with fear and trembling. Kiss the Son lest He be angry, and you perish in the way.”
Jesus is on the move…

I agree. My question is how can the church endorse a candidate for economic reasons. They will both dump our economy.
If you want to change anything pray against abortion, and vote for life. That is the only real difference in this election.
Though as far as the economy. If abortion is ended I cannot help but imagine what would happen to the economy. I believe that there would be a change for the better. Maybe not right away, but I believe that we can only imagine the consequences our nation suffers because of the innocent bloodshed.
I am just left leaning on the Lord, that is all I can say.

Zack,
I listend to Daniel Lim’s message from a recent FCF tonight at lunch break. If you have yet to hear it- get it and give it a listen, I think he is speaking the heart of God for this hour. I think he spoke durring the time you were gone on honeymoon.

Did people not read what I wrote???
This isn’t about the election it’s about a king coming back to the Earth. The solution is as much a candidate but where our attention is fixed. It’s should be directed at Heaven not the political climate.
maybe I’m not articulating correctly.
Zack,
That our eyes should be on Christ first is of primary importance. Many will be depressed, perhaps to the point of doing harm to themselves or to others. We can see this happening already.
No, Christians cannot fix what is wrong with the world, and, yes, we should be encouraging folks to look to God as their barometer instead of the stock market, or think of a political candidate as a potential Messiah. We hear you.
However, there is also a practical aspect to all of this in which Christians can be of help to their brothers and sisters. We need to start giving to folks in our communities who have lost their jobs, or need school clothes for their kids. We could volunteer to take a senior to the doctor or to the grocery store. Or perhaps rake leaves, or shovel snow if we don’t enough money to actually financially help. If we all tithed 10% of every food purchase to our local food banks, who are running desperately short, we could go a long way to alleviating hunger in our communities. There are a myriad of things Christians can do to show the love of the Lord, not just talk about it. After all, the Lord just didn’t evangelize and be done with it, He met real needs.
I firmly believe if every Christian on this planet would do even small practical acts of kindness, wherever we see real need, we not only could evangelize more folks, but set a living example of God’s love in an increasingly dog-eat-dog world.
