On Nov. 4th- Look At The Nations And Marvel
November 4th, 2008 will mark a significant day in American history. I can’t think of a bigger shift in the executive office of our nation other than when Andrew Jackson and comparatively when Teddy Roosevelt took office. Their respective administrations changed the way the executive office governed. In both cases giving it more significance and power.
The likely-hood that Barrak Obama will become the next president is high enough to put money on it in Vegas. Let’s not mince words- Obama is a socialist. Thanks to the Patriot Act, a government $700 billion investment in the banks of the U.S., and possibly filibuster-proof congress. Would give Mr. Obama executive power un seen in American history even more so then President Jackson.
Not only does he have blood on his hands because of his intense stance on abortion. But his economic polices will tax the wealthy give to the poor to the point that work becomes what you do as an obligation to the government not what you do to make a life for your self… but I digress.
In Habakkuk the nation of Israel was also in a time of crisis. God’s command to Habakkuk was the following:
Look among the nations and watch — be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days, which you would not believe, though it were told you. Hab 1:5-6
My point is this: On November 4th vote. Please vote. Vote for McCain. Please, oh please vote for McCain.
BUT
Not matter the outcome- watch. Ask the Lord what it is He is doing. Folks, our God is all sovereign. If Obama is elected, God had a hand in it. He is still the one who: “Raises up Kings and tares them down”
Remember our biblical duty as believers. Pray for our leaders (no matter who they are), proclaim the gospel of the kingdom, and be found watching. Praying, waiting, hastening the day of His return. Because the time is near.

I am really liking this new Zack Hensley. woooohh. You don’t know how many times I have been staring at that passage of scripture in the last four or five months, and thinking, Lord, What are You about to do??
I have asked supporters of Obama if they are really ready for the change that he is about to bring. When I mentioned a socialistic government within his first term, it just seems to fall on the floor or something. They don’t really get it, or believe it.
One of our intercessors had had an interesting dream a couple of weeks ago, she wrote it out and sent it to me and wanted me to send it to our pastor. I sent it to him, and much to his surprise, he has a dream a day or two later and a guy in the dream is telling him the interpretation of the dream. All during his dream, in the background is this sign that keeps coming up that reads “SOCIALISM.” The short of the whole thing had to do with Obama and the trouble ahead and people streaming into the church because they realized what was really happening in the world.
I agree that when I try to explain, at least in political terms, the danger of socialism, it just seems to make people’s eyes glaze over.
Of course, seeing the collapse of communism in Russia, who had a completely socialistic government should be lesson enough. If not, then there’s the Chinese economy which has boomed since the Chinese have also abandoned their previously unsuccessful version of government redistribution of the wealth, and adopted a capitalistic economic system instead, which rewards individual achievement.
However, the two most effective common sense examples I’ve found so far are the following:
Socialism means that if you’ve run out of Halloween candy, and a child comes to your door with a full bag of it, you can take it all from him, and tell him that you’ve run out. Rather than go and get some more yourself, you explain to the child that he has to replenish your supply so that you can redistribute it among the other kids that are going to come to your door. While that might sound like a good lesson in sharing, in fact, you are giving something away that isn’t yours.
The other example is similar:
A couple goes into a restaurant, and the server is wearing an Obama buttton. He goes out of his way to give them good service. Knowing that his candidate Obama believes in redistributing the wealth, however, they tell the server they are going to give his tip to a homeless man outside the restaurant, assuming that will make him happy. However, the waiter is furious instead, at what is rightfully his being given to someone without his consent.
That’s socialism in a nutshell – giving away everything you don’t own.
I was moved by Dutch Sheets recent call to prayer over the elections. The one thing that he said that has made a difference for me was this: “Get in the place of prayer and turn off the news if you have to.” If the news is putting you in a place of doubt rather than a place of faith, then it is time to turn it off and get in your prayer room.
There are so many that are despairing over any possiblity of a McCain victory that they have quit praying. So I have been challenging people to pray, turn off the news, send out email blitzes urging people to go to the polls, take the day off work next Tuesday and drive others to the polls, and to not worry about an Obama victory. We can worry about that if it were to come to pass.
An Obama victory would be a disaster for America. But wouldn’t it also be a sign of the times that the Lord is about to begin to unfold the final chapter.
Pray! Vote! Change History! – KH
I so want to know God’s plan for all of this… There’s a reason Obama got elected, and I want to know it! I feel that it could be a step towards judgment, but I also hope it is like that dream in John’s comment, and people end up more desperate, coming to Jesus!
