Gee thanks Zack, your not such a bad guy yourself.

It is intresting that the Lakeland post is number one. I went back to look at some of the comments I made and I have mixed emotions on some of my conclusions.

I think the first section of my first comment on that thread hit the closest to my thoughts on what that revival was about. Sure, I think that the Lord really healed people, and people were encouraged and touched. But I think that there was a greater message that was being trumpeted. My thoughts arn’t in any way clear on what that was for sure, but I hope that we are ready for the great paradoxes of our times. I hope that I am prepared. Because the extreme pressures of the hour, both in trouble and revival, are going to be well beyond anything this generation has ever faced. Possibly any have, ever.

    Hey Zack,

Thanks. I’ve not been blogging much here lately anywhere.

I’ve enjoyed the discussion on all the posts you mentioned. I particularly like the ones who make us all think about God’s Word more deeply. Even if we don’t always necessarily agree, I think we learn from one another.

Love to you and Carrie. Hope she is doing well.

    God bless.

Margret, did you ever try that coffee from Amazon?

  6. 2008 December 16

@mbaker thank you! I appreciate you.

@ John dude! you pic looks so scary now, I’m used to seeing that smiley baby of yours! It was just a jolting change.

Lakeland humbled a lot people. I think that was it’s purpose. And by a lot of people I mostly mean those within the Charismatic church. It gave some of it’s leaders a soberness that they needed.

Lakeland bothered me from the beginning. I am so hungry for the in breaking of God, but something seemed to be wrong with the Lakeland deal.

This is why I pray. I like how Ravenhill says it. unless we as a church are found in constant prayer, we’ll mistake rattles for revivals.

So I’m clear I’m not poking at you saying you needed to be humbled. I think the leaders at the conference needed to be. But we all do. My humbling comes to me in all kinds of ways.

I say better to be humbled than humiliated.

    That’s my take on it.

    John,

No, I didn’t. I am still on the search for a good cup of coffee that tastes like real coffee used to. I’ve tried everything. If you wouldn’t mind, please send me the name of it again.

    Thanks, and God bless.

Yeah, I need to fix that, it’s dark and scary, not me at all. I was looking for a change in my avitar and snapped a couple of pix with my web cam- had trouble with the new interface that wordpress has, so by the time I got this to upload I was done with the whole ordeal.

I agree with you, and I think your Ravenhill quote was a great synopsis. ( I should get that book out again, why revival tarries) I came back from Lakeland puzzeled, not connecting with the Spirit of God in the way I had expected. My friend who went with me got a healing in his foot as we worshiped one night, but I had no God encounter that I was really hungry for. I have been humbled, and I am the better for it.

I felt that I should go, and that was the thing that I was so confused about. But the thing God was wanting for me, and what I thought I was going for were two different things. God was wanting to give me perspective and an education- give me sobriety, and to confirm some things He has been teaching me over the years about who He is and what He is doing.

I so appreciate what Mike B. is putting out there at this time, so needed! I have been searching for months, trying to find someone who was speaking with such clarity about the times. I get revelation from the Lord and in the word, but it’s hard at times to know how your “hearing” with little to confirm but the witness of the Holy Spirit. ( that should be enough)

Thanks, John. It got good reviews, so I’ll probably invest in a bag to try it out. Is it just me or it is becoming more and more difficult to find a good cup of coffee?Everyone I’ve talked to here in the northwest says it’s because they roast the beans too quickly, but we bought a roaster and some different kinds of beans from a local supplier and did them ourselves, but couldn’t get that real coffee taste.

Sorry to get so far off topic, Zack. Being a parent of a daughter your age, I liked the one where you spoke so highly of your mama too. Anita, I hope she speaks as highly of me, as Zack does of you. We momma’s need that.
