Blog vs. Twitter- the battle ensues
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and children of all ages- Welcome to the heavyweight bout. In this corner…
So enough with the dramatics. I have a problem: Twitter has become what once was blogging for me, and I miss blogging! Before Twitter came into my life I would blog my thoughts. I would turn a simple idea into an enjoyable prose for net-wave peeps to read, enjoy, and discuss. Not anymore; thanks to my obsession with the twitterpations of everyday life, I have turned those simple ideas, great rants, witty quips, and funny anecdotes into 140 character run-on sentences.
sigh
I miss the blogging world. I miss stirring up a little controversy. I miss having a community of peeps that wiegh in on the ideas and prose that I am processing. I miss telling stories. I miss ranting on Friday’s. I miss the Blatzhiem-Greycoat-mbaker hit backs on my posts on theology. (my last point wasn’t really debated, except for an atheist whose blog suggests that an argument with him would be fruit-less) I have missed this blog.
So who wins? Twitter? this blog?
I resolve to draw the line in the sand! If I must choose between Twitter and Blogging- I choose Blogging! As my life ramps up into the busiest time of my life- I choose blogging!! (of course if I have to choose between family/ responsibilities and blogging… I’m choosing them first)
So I’m pulling back on the Twitter- and ramping up the blog again.
But don’t take my word for it…

Yay!!!!!!! I am so excited. I have noticed a trend. People are blogging less. Or at least I am you are as well as other who’s blogs I read. I am sooo excited that you are bloging again!
Good choice!
Facebook already pulled me away from BlogLand a bit, so I have been hesitant to join the Twitter party. I am sure I will soon. But I am resisting for as long as I can. If I write any less, my blog will cease to exist!
I sure hope it wins out. I miss this stop in my daily surf.
What ever happend to Sliker? He got his new post and not a another line form him. Bummer dude…..
Weighing in here again…..
I’ve missed the theology discussions too. Twitter and Facebook are fine if all we want to do is keep in touch with our friends and family, but blogging gives a much broader perspective to our lives, I think. And, of course, the down side is that it does require more time and commitment.
I also think blogging is an excellent way to reach unbelievers, who will privately read Christian blogs, but wouldn’t go to church. Not to mention how much the rest of us can learn from not only the posts on a blog, but through all the different comments they generate.
I don’t like the tactlessness and rudeness I see on other blogs sometimes, however, when folks disagree with some of the moderators pet theories, but although we may sharply disagree at times on some issues here on yours, I still feel welcome.
God bless.
Ding Ding Ding…. ROUND 5!
Twitter has been killing the the old champion in the last four rounds. And this round isn’t looking any better the big blogger as the it opens with a flurry of short jabs from the up and coming contender……
Zack,
So where’s something I can disagree on, and live up to my infamous reputation?
Uh……I was going to reply to that one but……was afraid your brain might be rendered immobile by the sheer awesomeness of a greycoat reply. Something like this happened to that one guy who disagreed with us, before he actually went blind from over-exposure to pure awesomeness!
To Whoever,
I don’t mind heated discussions, just the overheated kind that so often get into name calling and religious elitism.
That’s because who knows whether what someone reads here, (spoken irenically of course), might correct some false teaching they may have received, or make them want to look deeper into the word of God to see if what the author of the post has written lines up with scripture. That has certainly happened to me on several blogs. On the other hand, there are some around who know their stuff, but are quick to engage in attack dog blogging, when someone questions them.
So, in my opinion, keeping it calm, civil, respectful (along with coherent, courteous commenting I might add) can be a great learning experience for all concerned in a discussion, whether we agree or disagree with someone else’s theology.
I thought I wasnt going to like this blog but more I read the more I liked it.
HAHAHA!!! I never tweeted at all. I am just not cool enough for that stuff. I am Glad you will be here. I have been rethinking the whole ramping up the blog again. I too had laid it low for a bit. I will be glad to give you my heated responses
anytime you want em.
missed you too sweety.
