Operation 34
34 folks. 34 is the pant size number I’m hoping to get down to by the end of this diet exercise program. the last time I wore size 34 was back in the summer of 2005. See pic:

After a ton of research, and after lots of advice, emails, and web browsing, I have decided on the plan I’m going to implement for operation 34:
I’m not going to lie, I have tried this diet/exercise program before. In fact I tried it twice. However it is the best program I can find that combines both nutrition and exercise into a way that offers not only weight loss, but lasting bodily health. Basically not only do I want to be in shape to run around with my kid, I want to be in shape when she has kids.
My last two attempts at this program crashed and burned like the Hindenburg. However I believe I’m in a much better position for success. The first two tries I was a bachelor with roommates who didn’t care about eating healthy. Plus as a bachelor you have to have some sort of social activity, meaning you have to go out, hang out with people to get social interaction. As a married man, I get plenty of social interaction with my wife. My life is much more disciplined and scheduled. There is something to say for having a tight schedule mapped out in 15 minutes increments- less time to sit around means less time to think about cheating on the diet.
So when to start?
This coming Monday will be day one of operation 34. Expect daily posts recording the journey. If posting doesn’t continue, feel free to beat on me about it!
TillĀ Monday I plan on enjoying the fat life for just a little bit more.
