Random Rantings Friday iss#95
Folks, friends and fumblers, I’m back for yet another Random Rantings Friday. As I get back into blogging- Friday’s is the day I missed the most during my absence. That said- “lock on- Energize” – and don’t correct the spelling grammar errors!! Cause I’m not!! ha!
How could I start today in any other way? Star Trek! The new movie came out today! A friend texted me at 8am asking if I wanted to head to the 10am showing. It being my day off, how could I refuse. It was jaw dropping, mind blowing, and absolutely stunning. I haven’t cried (cough…uh I cried? no trekkies don’t cry… sniff sniff) laughed, cheered, gasped, and covered my eyes because of the intensity, in any movie like I did this one. it was awesome and better than any of the previous movies, though I will always love them. ok ok trekkie-geek switch off.
Monday is day one of Operation 34. I have to admit, I was at a BBQ today and felt no remorse in eating a hot dog or two. I figured “help is on the way” so enjoy it while it lasts. Seriously though I’m so excited about the prospect of being healthy again and not fat!
The C.I.A. is now coming out with “shocking news”: Nacy Pelosi was breifed and knew about tortue during the Bush Admin.? whaaaaat!! This is why when asked I never claim a party side. Both sides are guilty, they noth run the country. It’s accine to think that for the last 8 years the Republicans commited all these crimes while the Democrats had no idea, and no involement. The Republicans do the same thing to the Dems. sigh.
The other day I was out with my wife. I was filling up my water bottle at a drinking fountain when she went to use the restroom. Only I didn’t know she left. In the mean time a different pregnant lady came up behind me. I only saw her out of the corner of my eye and thought it was Carrie. I started saying, ” baby, you look so good toda…” Only to look up and see a different lady. I nodded awkwardly and walked away.
42 days until ATC this summer! Since this is my first time directing a program, not to mention this specific one, I am looking forward to it. We have a 100 person staff serving and I’m expecting about 2,000 teenagers this summer. So pumped!
Thanks to the help of a couple different friends, I am now fully in the Blackberry club. An old friend got me the money to get the phone, and another friend paid for the data package plan. No I just have to work on not getting consumed by the new heightened level of communication!
I am teaching a ton these days. Mostly the reason why blog posts have been sparse. Not only am I still teaching my Christian worldview class, and developing the curriculum as I go- I also just started a basic Doctrine series for the youth on Sunday mornings. I’m super excited about it! Tomorrow I’m taking them through “The Fall” and sin. 
Brett Brett go away come again on Canton day. Still love number 4. But if Favre keeps this up he’ll be remembered as a joke not a great. I’m not even sure Viks fans would be interested.
I love working with teenagers, I love pastoring teenagers. I feel that at 27 years old I have found my vocation for the 10- 20 years. I am and hope to forever be elevated to the blessed office of youth pastor. No greater joy or opportunity could any man find in ministry, then to be entrusted by God with the lives and hearts of the next generation. Youth ministry is not the stepping stone to something greater, for me it’s the vocation I was called by God to excel too. I am blessed.
One of the other things I have sorely missed about Random Rantings Friday, is posting it on a day NOT Friday. 
Random rants + a random time= SWEEET!
I’ve developed the habit of saying “sweet” all of the time. It’s gotten to be such a habit in the last month that my students called me on it. They were like: “Mr. Hensley you say ’sweet’ all of the time” and I was like “Huh, I guess I do.” Random I know!
That’s all for today, I know have to meet with the ambassedor from Meridian 3. Apparently There is a Ferengi vessel in their orbit trying to create a rift in the Space-Time Continum. Which is a violation of federation ordinance 0-778-09-4. Told you I was a Trekkie.
