I’m a 27 year old believer in Christ Jesus. I am a man of great weakness, yet in the grace of Christ I have strength. I have a lot that I don’t deserve and given my life to the ministry of Christ and His coming.
Before I’m known for anything in this life, I am lover of Jesus, a husband, and a Father. Nothing will ever rival.
Switching to the third person out of professionalism not vanity!
Zack Hensley was born and raised in Mesa Arizona. Where he served at Word of Grace Church (now called City of Grace) In July of 2002 He moved to Kansas City, Missouri to join staff at the International House of Prayer.
Zack is married to a woman who has helped make him the man he is today; Carrie Hensley. Recently on July 26th of 2009, Natalie Sage Hensley was born taking their family from 2 to 3.
What He does:
Zack, Works specifically with teenagers. Being the Director of IHOP’s Awakening Teen Camp, he sees thousands of teens
come through K.C. every summer wanting to get an understanding of how God sees them both biblically and presently; giving them a true identity of what it means to be a follower of Christ.
Among planning, organizing, and preaching at such an event, this also means building and pastoring a leadership team of about 50-60 young adults to pour into these teens lives for 9 weeks during the summer. He takes much time mentoring, and helping them mature into Godly young leaders. A few other bullet points:
- Zack runs IHOP’s Sunday morning teen church service, preaching and and pastoring teenagers weekly
- Zack leads and is starting an inner city outreach to teenagers in downtown Kansas City. This will involve both evangelism, and pastoring teenagers in rough situations long term, and helping them get plugged into churches, and or our teen church on Sundays.
- Zack teaches at The Daniel Academy Jr. High and High School. Teaching their Biblical Worldview class, and Debate teams.
Switching back to first person- felt a little like Terrel Owens for a second.
My Vision:
Over the last 8 years of serving in ministry my goals, and vision for where my life and ministry were going to go have changed. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to grow a lot. You could say at one point ,my life and ministry were a way to build something successful for me to be defined by. Though I’ve always cared deeply for people, ministry had at times been more about making a name for myself than about those I was serving. 3 years ago I had an awaking. I realized that it is not about me or the name I make for myself, It’s about Jesus and the glory that is due His name.
My life’s ambition has become clear since. No matter the amount of people I’m in front of, no matter how much pressure there is to preach relevant things, and build a lucrative ministry, I only care about one thing: To know and love Christ and lead others to do the same. Whether I’m poor or rich, known or un known. At the end of the day my success is measured for me by my love for God. That’s truly my only ambition.
To him be the glory…
