Are you Saved?

Are you saved?

I’m aware that many who stumble across this blog do not know Jesus. Some may know of Him, they may have heard various preachers or pastors talk about Him, but many of those who have even heard are not saved.

· So what are you saved from?

Ultimately Hell. All men and women, young and old, good and bad, smart, and ignorant are all destined for one thing; eternal death. It is their destination, because of sin. All men have sinned. None can live a perfect life and be 100% good 100% of the time. All humans are sinners, thus destined for a punishment that lasts for all of eternity. Hell is a place where the wrath of God burns with a righteous indignation. The flames of that fire burn all those who do not choose Jesus. But they are not burned just once, but continually. Over and over for all of eternity they live in the everlasting flames of the torment of Hell. It’s a place I wish on no man, but a place every man deserves. We are all sinners and without a faith in Christ our sin has qualified us for that eternal death.

· How is one saved from sin and eternal death?

God will not ever cease his hatred of wickedness, but He will never cease His love for humanity. Therefore our sin or wrong doings still require a penalty. So God in the greatest act of love ever seen, sent His only son, Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sin. Jesus was 100% good 100% of the time, and in his death was a sufficient sacrifice. A sufficient substitution to receive the wrath and penalty we deserved. So in Jesus Christ we have life. Outside of Christ we must pay the penalty for our actions, but if we join Christ and put our faith and love in Him, the penalty for our actions are paid for by His death and resurrection from the dead.

· Why did God kill His son and raise Him from the dead for us?

God loves us. He desires glory for His name. In the same way a man wins the adoration of his wife by laying down his life for her. God sent His son Jesus to the Earth and paid our penalty of sin so that we can forever be with Him, and forever give Him the Glory He is worthy of.

Jesus died on the cross; His blood atoned for our sin. After 2 days of being buried and dead, on the third day His body was raised from death and the grave. The power of that resurrection also raises us from our sins. Jesus ascended into Heaven to prepare a place for us. One day He will return to the Earth. On that glorious day the sky will split open and Heaven will descend down to the Earth. Every man and woman who has ever lived however short or long will be raised from the dead. Each one will stand in front of Jesus the mighty King of Heaven. Every deed we’ve done, good and bad, will be brought before Him. Judgment will be made on all. The good news is that those who have faith in Christ; have their penalty paid by Christ, will live forever in Eternity. Those who have not chosen to love Christ must pay the penalty for their actions. Therefore they will be cast into God’s fury known as The Lake of Fire or Hell. They will exist forever in Hell.

· This is Good news!

If you still have breath in your lungs you have a chance to repent to Jesus for your sins, and ask Him for forgiveness. You still have a chance to put your faith in Jesus! This is the truth, not a lie made up by man. The creator of the Heavens and the Earth is coming to the Earth to judge the living and the dead. There are only two possible outcomes; no exceptions. Either you repent for your sins, or you pay the penalty for them yourself by dwelling in Hell forever. You don’t have to go to Hell! You don’t have to be a slave to sin, a slave to doing wrong things. You don’t have to be a slave to the guilt that you feel for the wrong things you’ve done. You can be free from that guilt; you can be free from that shame- in Christ.

· You can live forever.

Today, if you acknowledge that you are a sinner and have not lived a perfect life, if you repent of your sins, and receive the forgiveness of Christ, you can live forever. Choose Jesus Christ today. Jesus doesn’t promise riches or wealth in this life. He doesn’t promise that you won’t face trouble or hardship. BUT He does promise that when you face trouble you will have a Helper! You have an Advocate who will ask the Father, Our God for help. If you sin while having faith in Christ, you will have Jesus as your Advocate who is faithful to forgive your wrong doing if you are faithful to repent and receive His grace. But those who have faith in Christ are no longer stuck in sin. Sin no longer has a power in you. Guilt and shame will no longer have power over your life; you will be free from their sting. Jesus promises LIFE; life for all of eternity. In Christ you will truly live forever. In eternity there is no pain, suffering or striving. We have a hope for glory in Christ. This isn’t a truth, or what I deem to be truth it’s THE truth. The absolute, uncompromised truth.

I urge you today, right now, as you read this, stop right now and repent for your sins. Ask the Lord for forgiveness. Forgive all of those people who have done you wrong and have sinned against you, and receive the mercy and grace of Christ.

If you do this I urge you to find a church in your area, and tell them that you want to be saved. If you have no church available, those who are regular on this site and I would be happy to answer your questions, pray for you, and be-friend you as you learn of this precious gift of salvation from sin and death.
